Iron infusion: Take 3

*SIGH*

Yesterday I received a phone call from my blood doctor.  He took some blood to do a check up on my iron levels and other things too.  Well, my iron is low again. :(

I go in on Thursday to have another iron infusion.  I am not too surprised though.  With getting sick in October with my ulcer bleeding out, not surprised at all really.  Loss of blood equals loss of iron.  Since I cannot absorb the iron like a normal person can, I can only get it by iron infusions.

I have been trying to eat more iron rich foods though.  Like beans and eggs. I do not eat hardly any red meat, if any at all.  It is very hard for me to eat green leafy vegetables as well.  My stomach just gives me fits. Since the greens affect my blood levels too, it can be rough.

The infusion will last for 6 hours. At least it is not a big infusion.  The big ones last for 8 or more hours.  With me being forgetful lately of simple things and a lot more tired than normal, I knew I was low.  I was hoping I was not though.

I plan on taking a book and my laptop so I can watch a movie.  Along with a couple of snacks I should be good to go. My last iron infusion was in September.  I made it three months. Hopefully, I will last longer this time.  Ulcer has been doing really well and I have been taking my vitamins and medicine.  Been real careful of what I eat too.

I leave for Italy at the end of March to visit a friend.  I PRAY that I will be OK.  I will have my blood doctor check my blood count again a few weeks before I go to make sure I am safe for travel.  I will be doing a lot of walking while I am there.  Want to have good energy for all the fun I am going to be having. :)
